You finally have your hands on a Manduka Bolster cushion - great! Here are some ways you can utilize your new prop:

.) Supported Child's Pose: Set up for Child's Pose, by bringing the knees just outside the bolster cushion. Make sure your head and torso can relax comfortably without resisting gravity. Notice the shape of the arms is slightly bent. Gaze can be in either direction. Relax here for 3-5 minutes.
.) Supported Child's Pose w/ Two Bolster Cushions: for added height place two bolsters on top of one another for additional support.
.) Reclined Bound Angle Pose: place bolster cushion at the base of the spine, near the sacrum. Lie on top of the bolster on its longest side, just under the spine. Bring the soles of the feet together and allow the bent knees to come apart. Place additional props such as blankets or blocks under the knees for support, if needed. Relax here for 5-7 minutes.
.) Supported Twists: Start with both knees facing the same direction (in the photo, I start towards the left wall). One leg may stagger behind the other. Place the bolster against the right hip. Lie forward on the bolster like you would in child's pose, but enjoying a gentle twist. Gaze can be in either direction. Relax here for 5 minutes. Be sure to complete both sides.
.) Leg's up the Wall: Inch yourself close enough to an empty wall space to relax your legs comfortably. Place the bolster underneath your mid back. Giving your full weight into the support of the bolster. Relax here for 5-7 minutes.
.) Savasana Variation with Lower Back Support: Place your bolster underneath your knees. This will allow the lower back to decompress comfortably during savasana. Rest here for 5-7 minutes.
